It is just too awful

Well the mood here at Enigin Plc wasn’t too cheery this morning. Here in the UK we had a wonderful, hot summers weekend. People enjoyed the beach, bbqs, sun and being with friends. What they didn’t enjoy was the shambles that was the last England game of the World Cup 2010.

There are constant news flashes coming up all day today speculating at reasons for such an awful defeat, the shocking disallowing of the 2nd England goal, whether the coach Fabio Cappello will leave. And most people ask “did you see it” and quickly follow the question with “I don’t want to talk about it”. And yet we all still do, its impossible not to.

Hard not to go over how bad it was, how embarrassing it was, how the England players appeared to not be bothered at their shocking defeat. But then didn’t we all know it would end like this? It always does.

So I think now its time to move on, quickly and surely. Get past is, forget about it and enjoy the rest of the summer. And maybe even the possibility of winning at Wimbledon instead! Who knows, we have to get somewhere, at some point surely.

Enigin’s Summer is here - the World Cup has started!

It has begun! The World Cup is in full swing. Flags are flying all over England, football shirts are the new summer clothing, and World Cup parties are this summers BBQs.

How is everyone finding it? As many will know, here in England tension is running high. With less then 48 hours to go until the deciding match, everyone I think is fearing the worst.

I really hate to admit it but I just have lost so much faith that I keep telling myself what I know deep down to be true, Wednesday will be it for England. I have got to a point where I realise there is no point in even hoping, or telling myself “come on they can do it!”. Because quite frankly, I am not so sure they can.

What about everyone else though? There really have been some shockers. Nearly every day there has been a team/country who has come out on top when no one expected it, and really, I think it is brilliant. It is so great to see teams who tend to get brushed off, being the ones to beat the teams who are expected to do well.

This week will truly make for an interesting world cup 2010! Honestly cannot wait to see what happens.
