Enigin - Burnt skin and red faces

May 25th, 2010 posted by enigin

That is the picture of the Enigin office on Monday morning, after a scorching weekend! The weekend called for the beach, bbq’s and a lot of sun tan lotion.

In the darkest, deepest part of South West England, we had the most glorious weekend. Will clear blue sky’s, bright sunshine, and not just bright, hot, very hot. It was hotter here then it was in Spain, Italy and even Los Angeles! Though no doubt for us, that is it. We get one summer weekend, not a whole summer of this sort of weather. But we can only hope!

On Monday morning here at the Enigin office it was all talk of what we did at the weekend, where we went, how burnt you got and how many bbq’s did you have. There were plenty of people ooohing and aaahing at painful red burnt skin.

The shops were ransacked for sun cream and charcoal, bbq food, beer and then after sun! But we do all go so mad in this sort of weather. We get so carried away.

Part of you desperately wants to make the most of it, knowing it won’t last, knowing this could be our only chance, especially here in the UK. But then so many of us go crazy as though summer is suddenly here and this is what it will be like for the next 3 or 4 months. Forgetting that most likely by next weekend it will be grey, cloudy and raining.

So we all rush out and by a brand new BBQ, summer clothes, sunglasses, flip flops, new garden furniture so we can sit out and enjoy the sun. Then again, I don’t want to be putting a damper on it, so I truly do hope it does last, or at least come back again. But still, I want to make the most of it, so as we do in the UK, now it is sunny I am off to sit outside in the sun for my lunch. Can’t miss a second of sunshine!
